Manipur Police have arrested two people in connection with the killing of a man from Assam, who was allegedly stabbed to death outside Axis Bank at Thangal Bazar in Imphal on Monday night, September 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim, a resident of Borojalenga village in Silchar, Assam, was reportedly staying in the Thangal Bazar area. Police said he was allegedly killed by having his neck slashed with a machete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the incident, an FIR was registered at City Police Station and an investigation was launched to identify those involved and determine the motive behind the killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The arrested individuals have been identified as Yendrembam Paona Singh, 60, and Laishram Ngongo Meitei, 39, both residents of Kanglasiphai Makha Leikai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the investigation, Paona Singh allegedly confessed to the crime. According to police, he told investigators that the attack was carried out as an act of revenge following a dispute with the victim over alleged dealings involving contraband ganja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police said Paona Singh had travelled to Thangal Bazar allegedly intending to kill the victim and attacked him with a machete, slashing his neck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Investigators have seized blood-stained clothes allegedly worn by Paona Singh during the incident. A two-wheeler reportedly used by the accused to reach the crime scene has also been recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police are continuing efforts to recover the machete allegedly used in the killing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
