A five-member delegation from the Naga Youth Movement (NYM) met Nagaland Governor Nand Kishore Yadav at Lok Bhavan on Monday to voice growing concerns over prolonged delays in resolving the long-standing Naga political issue and implementing key political accords. During the 20 to 30-minute interaction, NYM representative Hiketo Naga conveyed the organization’s frustration regarding the stalled execution of the Framework Agreement and the Agreed Position. While Governor Yadav acknowledged full awareness of the issues raised, he clarified that he was not the designated authority to deliver a formal administrative response on the political negotiations. However, the Governor confirmed to the delegation that the charter of demands previously submitted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had been successfully received by both authorities, assuring them that an official response would follow in due course and reiterating that the Government of India remains firmly committed to achieving an early, peaceful solution. The meeting follows a charter of demands submitted by NYM on July 8, which set a strict three-month deadline ending October 8, 2026, for political resolution, transparency in the peace process, unification of all Naga Political Groups on a single platform, and clarity from the Centre on roadblocks hindering the agreements. Although NYM had expressed strong disappointment over an initial refusal to meet following the deadline’s expiration, delegates described the eventual Lok Bhavan interaction as fruitful, thanking the Governor for listening to the grievances of the Naga people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
