A Fresh Start For India In Asian Boxing. On Monday, two Indian boxers—Preeti Pawar and Deepak—secured their places in the quarterfinals of the competition.
In the women’s 54 kg category, Preeti Pawar entered the ring against Kazakhstan’s Elina. Maintaining control from the very beginning and keeping her opponent under pressure, Preeti won the match with a 5-0 scoreline. Notably, Preeti had previously won a gold medal in the World Boxing Cup final.
On the other hand, in the men’s 70 kg category, India’s Deepak had to fight a bit harder for his victory. He entered the quarterfinals after defeating Uzbekistan’s Khavasbek with a 3-2 split decision.
