Mixed Fortunes for India at Investec SA Women’s Open: Pranavi Urs Leads the Pack as Esme Hamilton Grabs Maiden Title . The final round of the Investec South African Women’s Open concluded with a blend of grit and disappointment for the Indian contingent. While the scenic course in Cape Town offered its usual challenges, it was Pranavi Urs who emerged as the top performer among the Indian golfers, showing remarkable composure under pressure.
The Indian Leaderboard
Pranavi Urs showcased a steady hand on the final day, carding a solid 1-under 72. Her disciplined approach allowed her to navigate the difficult conditions effectively, ultimately landing her in a respectable joint 24th position. Her performance remains a bright spot for Indian golf on the international stage this season.
In contrast, it was a tough day at the office for Diksha Dagar. Starting the final round with higher expectations, Dagar struggled to find her rhythm, carding a 76. This late-stage slump caused her to slide down the leaderboard, eventually settling for a joint 37th place finish.
Meanwhile, Avani Prashanth also faced an uphill battle during the closing stages of the tournament. With a final round score of 77, she concluded her campaign in a joint 57th position. While not the finish she hoped for, the experience remains a vital part of her development on the Ladies European Tour.
A Milestone for England
The spotlight of the tournament, however, belonged to England’s Esme Hamilton. In a career-defining performance, Hamilton maintained her lead to win the championship by a clear two-shot margin. This victory marks her first-ever Ladies European Tour (LET) title, signaling the arrival of a major new talent on the tour.
