IPL 2026: Nitish Rana Penalised for Umpire Argument, CSK Hit with Slow Over-Rate Fine

In a match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals’ batter Nitish Rana has been fined 25 percent of his match fee for breaching the code of conduct.
The incident took place during the match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In the 19th over of the match, an argument broke out between Rana and the umpire. When the umpire turned down a request for a review (DRS) regarding a wide ball, Rana engaged in a heated debate with him.
Following this, the match referee penalized Rana for his behavior. On the other hand, CSK captain MS Dhoni was also fined ₹12 lakh for his team maintaining a slow over-rate during the same match.
