From Titabor to Thailand: Mami, Mala, Dhanada Win Gold for India at Masters Meet
Three women from the Titabor region, representing the country at the World Masters Athletics Championships held in Thailand on April 17, have brought glory to the region as well as the district by winning multiple gold medals.
Seven male and female athletes from various parts of the state participated in the competition. It is noteworthy that in the competition, Mami Saikia won gold medals in Discus Throw, Shot Put, and Javelin Throw in the above 45 years category for women.
On the other hand, Mala Baruah managed to win a gold medal in the 2000-meter steeplechase and long jump in the above 45 years category. Additionally, in the above 65 years category for women, Dhanada Dutta won gold medals in the 2000-meter steeplechase, 400-meter race, and 100-meter race.
The sports enthusiasts of Jorhat and Titabor have expressed their best wishes and congratulations to these gold-medal-winning athletes.
