‘Not 100% Fit’: Jaffer Flags Bumrah Form Slump, Lacks Rhythm and Pace
In this edition of the IPL, Jasprit Bumrah has yet to take a single wicket in the matches he has played so far. The star bowler of Mumbai Indians has conceded 164 runs in the IPL. Such poor form has never been seen from Bumrah before. Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer has raised questions regarding the pacer’s fitness.
According to Jaffer, Bumrah is not fully fit. The physical injury the bowler sustained has not completely healed. Before the start of the IPL, Bumrah had gone to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for fitness tests. After that, he was given the green light to play from the very first match.
However, looking at the bowler’s performance in various competitions, he seems to be struggling. Jaffer stated: “In my opinion, Bumrah is not 100% fit. Whether in the World Cup or before that, he has performed exceptionally well. But now, we aren’t seeing that same physical rhythm in Bumrah’s bowling. He hasn’t looked this out of form before.”
Jaffer further noted that Bumrah is struggling to maintain his rhythm and lacks the sharp pace he is known for, suggesting that the injury issues may still be lingering.
