Following a crushing eight-wicket loss to the Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Delhi Capitals (DC) are on the brink of elimination from IPL 2026. With only four wins from ten matches and a dismal net run rate of -0.949, DC currently sits in 7th place, leaving them with almost no margin for error in their final four fixtures. The team’s struggle is compounded by a complete lack of batting adaptability on slow surfaces, as evidenced by their recent collapse against CSK’s disciplined spin attack.

To keep their playoff hopes alive, the Capitals must ideally win all four of their remaining matches to reach the 16-point “safe zone”. While finishing on 14 points with three wins is mathematically possible, their poor net run rate means they would likely be eliminated in any tie-break scenario. With upcoming games against direct playoff contenders like the Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals, one more defeat would effectively end Delhi’s campaign immediately.
