Shami’s Test Career on the Line: Is T20 the Only Option Left for India’s Fast Bowling Ace

He also mentioned that Mohammed Shami has been participating in domestic cricket in the current season. However, from the information they have received regarding Shami’s fitness at this moment, it becomes certain that he is currently ready only for T20 cricket. Therefore, during the selection of the Test team, Mohammed Shami’s name did not even come up for discussion. It is worth mentioning that Mohammed Shami, who has claimed 197 international wickets across all formats for India, last played for the Indian national team in the Champions Trophy final in March 2025.
