Statement by Mustafa Suleyman, Head of Microsoft’s AI Division Most Office Work Will Be Automated Within 18 Months

Mustafa Suleyman, the head of Microsoft’s AI division, has stated that professional tasks ongoing in the majority of offices will become automated within the next 18 months. He mentioned that Artificial Intelligence will soon take over various professional tasks. He also noted that AI technology has already begun to deeply impact the job market. As a part of this trend, multinational corporations like Amazon, Meta, and Oracle have been seen cutting a significant number of employee jobs and having those tasks performed by AI.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Suleyman said that AI will be capable of managing the majority of tasks at a level equivalent to human efficiency. He pointed out that almost all work performed by sitting in front of a computer will become automated within the next 18 months. Artificial Intelligence will be particularly successful in smoothly managing tasks associated with legal work, marketing, and project management.
