Big Drug &Arms Bust, Militant Falls into Police Net in Manipur
The security forces in Manipur have conducted significant operations resulting in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. They have also arrested a notable militant affiliated with the outlawed PREPAK outfit. Additionally, approximately 50 kg of suspected opium, valued at over Rs 3 crore, was seized during these operations. Officials reported these developments on Tuesday. A senior police official announced that a collaborative effort between the Manipur Police and the 19 Garhwal Rifles led to the recovery of a significant stockpile of arms, explosives, and war-like supplies during a search operation on Tuesday.
This operation took place in the forested area of K. Thenjang village, located in Churachandpur district, which borders both Myanmar and Mizoram. The official indicated that a comprehensive report on the arms and ammunition that were recovered, which includes advanced weaponry, is currently pending.
