Sikkim Releases Draft Electoral Roll, Citizens Can Claim Corrections Till August 4

Sikkim’s state’s draft voter nomination under Special Intensive Review 2026 has been published with State Chief Election Officer Rajkumar Yadav informing that the calculation phase was completed successfully.
The CEO said the special in-depth review was conducted aimed at making the voter nomination more accurate, authentic, transparent and reliable.
Informing that he received counting forms from 4,33,294 out of total 4,71,018 voters in the state in the counting phase conducted from May 30 to June 28, 2026, he said that 32 election registration officers, 37 assistant election registration officers, 75 additional assistant election registration officers, 572 booth-level officers operating at 623 polling stations and 895 booth-level representatives of accredited political parties had played an active role.
Yadav also informed that draft voter nomination has been made public both printed and digitally and also made public to the public through the website of Chief Election Officer and concerned District Election Officers.
He said eligible citizens who have been missed to be included in the name of voting although eligible could be claimed before the concerned Election Officer till August 4, 2026, for registering their name, correcting details or removing the ineligible person’s name.
“Also, voter details who have been permanently settled, died or registered in multiple places and name not included in the draft nomination,” he said.
Special facilitation camps were conducted at voting centres across the state to make the review process smooth and effective, broad public awareness programs were conducted through communication media, social networks and local languages and information flowing regularly through official media.
The Chief Election Officer clarified that the main objective of special intensive review is to prepare correct, authentic, transparent and trustworthy voter nomination that all claims received regarding the application regarding registration, amendment and removal of the applications set by the Indian Election Commission, the final decision will be taken only by the necessary testing and verification as per the process and criteria.
