New Zealand’s Women’s Cricket Team Has Made History By Successfully Hasing A Target Of 347 Runs Against South Africa
The New Zealand cricket team has become the holder of a new record in women’s cricket. In the second match of the ongoing ODI series against South Africa, they etched their name in history by successfully chasing a target of 347 runs, the highest-ever successful run chase in the history of Women’s One Day International (ODI) cricket.
In achieving this feat, New Zealand surpassed India. Previously, the Indian women’s cricket team held this record by chasing down a massive target of 331 runs set by Australia during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup held in Navi Mumbai.
On the other hand, in this ODI match between South Africa and New Zealand, South Africa batted first and scored 346 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 50 overs. Although New Zealand lost early wickets while chasing this target, captain Amelia Kerr played an unbeaten marathon innings of 171 runs to lead her team to victory in just 41.4 overs.
